This is a beautiful, wonderful Barbie doll. I purchased her after reading an article in a dance magazine about holiday gifts. I am both a dance lover and a Barbie lover. The doll has exquisite features, down to the hair and ruffled white dress, just like in a section of Alvin Ailey's famouse dance suite, Revelations. I highly recommend it for a collector's item.

I bought this as a gift for my 10 year old niece. She loves it. The doll is beautiful and a wonderful tribute to a great dancer. My niece is planning to take it to her next dance lesson to share with the other girls. I am considering purchasing another as a collectible.

I started collecting African-American dolls, about ten years ago. To date I have about 15-20 dolls.
While looking at the dolls on Amazon, I was thrilled to see the Alvin Ailey American Theater doll. It is an amazing replica of the female dancers of Revelations.
The only things missing are the floppy hat and the fan.
I am so very pleased with this doll.

I actually brought the Alvin Ailey doll from Walmart for $[...]. I just happened to be in the toy section and spotted this gorgeous replica of an Ailey women dancer; I snatched it up immediately. This doll is an accurate depiction of the grace and elegance of the Modern Dance Company. They even pointed her toes. I love it!
